  Tried to get my mom to watch the NBC segment last night...

  she wouldn't watch it... i told her all about it, and she of course started defending it before i was even finished.

  then we got into a long discussion, which was pretty one-sided, her telling me why the wts has the 'truth'.

  i told her all my concerns, and tried asking the 'if the wts is god's one and only 'channel' to earth, why all the changes in doctrine' question, and she of course gave me the 'light gets brighter' bs answer.

  What gets me about this scenario (not much different from mine)

  So the great and almighty Jehovah is going to slaughter the kids? And what purpose does this serve anyway? How is that loving? And who said that our family had an "IN" anyway? I thought God was suppose to read hearts hmmm? I remember hearing about how just because a person was a JW didn't mean that they were going to be in the paradise. So, who said our parents, family etc are going to be making through the Big A?

  Just a little too judgmental for my taste.

  I am really sorry about this Elyse. It hurts, I know.

  Cauliflower (w/ chesse for the youngest)

  i know other people started threads on this, but you know me, mr. analyze this, analyze that , what do you guys feel personally thankful for in this time in your life ?

  I'm thankful for my husband.

  I'm thankful for my children.

  I'm thankful for my friend B.

  I'm thankful for my mother in law.

  I'm thankful for many people here who have been there for me and my family in the last few months.

  I'm thankful for my family that I have gained since leaving.

  I'm thankful for having a roof over my head and food on the table.

  I'm thankful for my pooch Buster and my kitty.

  I'm thankful for living in a nation where I can wake up each morning and not be terrified to walk out to my car.

  I'm thankful for people who have paved the way before me so that the road I tread now is not so tough. Thank you to many here and those who do not post here, but have made it a hell of a lot easier for me to be an EXJW.

  How Will You Use Barbara Anderson's News to Help Your Witness Family ?

  so the big "national " news release has come and gone.

  it was huge in that this time it definitely hit the ears and eyes of witnesses as well as others who know witnesses, or have relatives who are in it .

  on a " national " scale this is a lot of people.

  My witness family is beyond help. They know very very well about the child abuse problems in the Society and have blatantly looked the other way.

  If Dateline or NightlyNews did a story about embezzling funds (or whatever) that might grab their attention.

  hi all, i emailed many of you the other day with info that nbc was set to air a segment regarding the jehovah's witnesses.that segment finally aired tonight.many of you might not have been able to see it so i'm sending a link i hope you will please take the time to look at.

Many of you might not have been able to see it so I'm sending a link I hope you will please take the time to look at. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21917798/ The reality is that over the years when people came forward to report child abuse to their elders, they were told specifically not to report to the police and in many cases when people have gone ahead to take care of matters legally, people have been disfellowshipped or removed from the congregation. This affects ALL of us. Not just JW's. Everytime a potential child molester has not been reported to the police, this means that the child molester has access to children everywhere. The elders, indeed, the Watchtower Society has known about this and has only finally started to change their policies when it became an issue and they were being called out for it. I've asked you before and I'm asking again, please pass this on. You never know who is talking to a JW at their door and would be too embarrassed to tell their friends. You never know. The only way the media is going to cover this to the extent that they have covered the Catholic Church is if people demand it, so please write into the various media outlets and tell them you want to know more about this! Write NBC and thank them for doing a piece on this and tell them you want to know more! Write your local news and tell them how important this is. In some ways this is worse than the Catholic Church .
  The Jehovah's Witnesses silences anyone who dares to question the authority of the Watchtower Society. There are thousands of people who have lost all contact with their family and friends for questioning their beliefs and the manner that the WTS has handled the child abuse. Thanks for taking the time to read this. By passing it on you could honestly be saving a life or a child from abuse. Meagan
